Pumphouse Players is pleased to announce the second show in the lineup of new play readings in the 2018-2019 PHP Local Playwright Series: Living Room by Pumphouse member and President Laurel Ann Lowe!
On Saturday, January 19th, at 8:00pm, a cast of local actors under the direction of Alex LaVelle will perform the script in a staged reading. The reading will be followed by an optional talkback and Q&A, where audience members are invited and welcomed to share their thoughts about the show.
Living Room is a modern love story about starting over. Natalie and Jared, children of divorced parents themselves, are well-acquainted with the challenges of balancing a two-household childhood, and they're determined the keep their own hurt from affecting their precocious daughter Sofia. To complicate matters, Jared's serial divorcee mother and Natalie's on-again, off-again parents have their own opinions about what it means to split things down the middle. But life—and love—goes on, even in the worst of times, and sometimes the lines between right and wrong are blurrier than we think. In a modern America where approximately half of marriages end in divorce, Living Room offers a candid look into the chaotic, sometimes humorous side of finding your own space and starting over.
General admission tickets are just $5.00 online or at the door (cash or card). While there's not a bad seat in the house, we recommend arriving early to snag your favorite one. Doors will open for seating at 7:30pm.
